Hairsense bone combs

Hairsense seriously makes the worst combs imaginable.

I've written about it before, how bad, no, seriously incredibly bad these combs are and how weird and/or stupid the owner is.
So I guess it was a serious error on my part to think that the one comb from the order that I have never, ever, ever used would be suitable to keep in my backpack as a backup comb.
For the first time since I bought it, I intended to use it. And what do I immediately spot?

The biggest, nastiest, hair-shreddiest split in a tooth that I have ever seen in a comb.

So here is my updated review of Hairsense bone combs:
It would be friendlier for your hair to dip it in a blender.
And it would be wiser to spend your money on setting it on fire.

No matter what the model name was for this comb, I have a better suggestion...

*drumroll*

I crack myself up.

Today's hair

Two "French" braids wrapped around a Ketylo in that Chinese bun pattern and secured with an extra Ketylo.

Today's hair

Alright, that looked better when I imagined it...

Got kind of... lumpy?

Today's hair

Three braids with a bit of "French", that I'm going to wrap around into a single bun tomorrow.

Stuhr hair protection spray

I randomly stumbled upon this in a supermarket in Denmark.
Now, I've seen a lot of products boasting of sun protection. Usually, they have none. They are of course free to claim all the sun protection they want to, since it doesn't seem to be regulated like it is for skin products. So "sun protection" in a hair products means absolutely nothing.

But what caught my attention with this one, was the super specific claim of "SPF 20". So of course I had to buy it and check.

This thing stinks like alcohol. Like, stinks, yuck.
But I could forgive it if it holds up to the claim.

Ingredient list
Alcohol denat., C12-15, alkyl benzoate, octocrylene, ethylhexyl salicylate, homosalate, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, diethylhexl butamido triazone, acrylates/ethylhexylacrylamide, copolymer, cyclopentasiloxane, parfum, tocopheryl acetate, limonene, linalool.

I had a good laugh at the "parfum" in this one. It might be the first time I've ever said this, but damn, this thing needs some more!

COSDNA provides me with this analysis.

And wow, it actually looks like this might have some serious sunscreen going on?
5 ingredients out of 14 are functional sunscreens. Really not bad!!
The denatured alcohol is of course a concern, but since the product does seem to be packing some serious sun protection, I'm actually willing to overlook it.
It's actually the only ingredient that makes me concerned in the ingredient list: Nothing in red, no acne triggers and only the one irritant.

Since this is a spray meant for hair, I should be able to avoid getting too much of this on my skin anyways.

But my verdict is that I'm pleasantly surprised. This spay might just deliver what it promises!
SPF 20, maybe not. But some serious SPF, yes.
So I will buy a second one of this and keep one in my shoulder bag and one at home in my haircare stash.

Today's hair

My "new" bangs in action...

I like the result. It looks very natural as long as I have a headband on (Maybe not as wide as this one next time?)
But the headband is definitely a must since the colour doesn't match 100% and it does leave a slight bump from the bangs. Maybe if my hair was short enough to "blend" in over the clip ins...?

April 1st is coming up... I wonder if someone would fall for this?

Finally got the fake bangs trimmed

I had a cancelled meeting today and spent my unexpected free time on going to the first best drop-in hairstylist to get my fake bangs trimmed into shape.
The stylist thought it was hilarious and kept commenting how it was the strangest, yet cleverest job she has ever done.

Today's hair

A simpler french braid-based version of this one, just to check if the Elling woman-"wrap under" was a succes I could repeat.

And yep, I could. This gives some really good hold.
My best advice for doing this, is to make sure you pull, not push the ends of the braids in under the bun.

I'm not dead

Just... A bit overworked, I guess.

There's a lot of things I like about the new project: The workplace, the colleges. The fact that once I get home from work, I am completely done with work for the day. I can't even access the servers from home, so once I leave, any feeling of "I should also..." is completely pointless.
It's surprisingly awesome and I will miss the feeling of freedom once I'm done there.

What I dislike is the hours and the transportation. I leave at 6:15 in the morning and I'm usually home 17:15. Since I want to get 8+ hours of sleep, it means I go to bed at 21:00. It really doesn't leave a lot of time for things like spending time with hubby, blogging or vegetating in front of computer.
Or socializing. Or having time (or energy) to react to family drama.

Meh. I'm put back on my old project in april. Until then I will enjoy the good things at the project: Like one of my coworkers who brings her dog with her most days. He really believes the office belongs to him and that all humans are required to give him backrubs.

Every bit as dumb as he looks, but twice as love-able!!

Today's hair

Feeling lazy today, so today's hair was my absolute go-to: A single braided nautilus bun.
Love this thing. Nothing beats it on stability and durability.
