Hair for cardio

Exactly opposite of lifting, the best choice for cardio is a bun. No rubbing of hair anywhere, no braid swinging around wildly (Just look at my video, lol) no hairs falling down and getting caught in your sweat.
My first choice is as always the braided Nautlus bun for its unrivalled stability and hold. Combine it with a headband that you place slightly closer to your forehead than usual to keep those annoying short hairs from loosening up and getting caught on a sweaty forehead.

Hair for lifting

After some experimentation back and forth, I have found that strangely, the best up do for lifting is a single braid.
You would think that would be the single worst up do for that, but this is what works for me.
I guess it’s because lifting is still somewhat “stationary” even though you do move around. You get in position and then only move certain parts of you for repetitions. It gives you the time to potion your hair before you start.
For squats, I place my braid on top of the bar before unhooking it and starting. For bench-work, I place it on the side and let it fall down to the ground. For things like the bent over row, I simply let it slip over my shoulder and hang down.

Buns were absolutely horrible. They actually managed to get the bar caught underneath my bun when I squat! Buns made it impossible to place my neck comfortable for bench work and actually felt like they got in my way for stuff like deadlifts.
