Mathalicious!

I’ve been featured!
On an awesome site that aims to teach math in a meaningful way, using real world topics!
Look!
Let Down Your Hair
How fast does hair grow? Students analyze a scatter plot, create a line of best fit, and interpret slope as the rate of hair growth over time.
The awesome Kate Nowak have promised me that the lesson will be a featured lesson sometime this summer so all my readers can see the whole thing.

Stay tuned!

Ankerhus

Since I have international readers, I thought maybe people would be interested in seeing one of the places I was last year.
I was at a place in Denmark called Ankerhus in Sorø for a seminar.
Ankerhus was founded in 1902 and is part of a home economics movement that started in the late 1800s.

The main building is from 1923.

Today it’s part of University College Sjælland and is home to the bachelor degree in nutrition and health. It is one of the two places in Denmark that trains nutrition and household economy students.

There are just under 400 students in the school. And of course the people who come in for different seminars like me.

Funny little overgrown building I slept in. It stands out from the rest of the place :)

I tried to figure out if this was some sort of small castle, but had no luck. We just have too many of those here…

Of course there was amazing food in a place like this!

CC cream love

I tried the Clinique superdefence CC cream a while back and really wasn’t impressed.
It was around the time where the CC creams had just taken over after the BB creams as the greatest new hype.
I wasn’t impressed. It seemed like just an overpriced foundation to me.
Then I stumbled upon the L’Oreal CC cream.
It boasted of “anti redness” and was only a fraction of the price of the Clinique one, so I figured why not give it a shot?

At first I tried way too much of it: It evened out the redness but ended up being too dark on my fair skin.
Now I have learned to mix a drop into my foundation and I. Am. In. Love!
Where has this one been all my life?
It is just perfect at evening the redness out instead of covering it with foundation.
For those who have a tendency to get red and irritated skin: Give this one a try!

The range also have an anti dullness and anti fatigue version.
