BFRB Awareness Week

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) is the 2013 update to the American Psychiatric Association's (APA) classification and diagnostic tool. In the United States the DSM serves as a universal authority for psychiatric diagnosis.
Unfortunately the ICD-10 has yet to recognize dermatillomania as a unique disorder:
ICD-10 is the 10th revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, a medical classification list by the World Health Organization (WHO).

BFRB Awareness Week

I'm going to take a break from my regular, mostly hair centered blogging and participate in this!

So for those who aren't interested, check in again in a week from now.

Hair inspiration

I can't clearly see how she fixated the braids at the sides, but I figured maybe I could do it with a pair of Flexies. That turned out to be a fail: I couldn't really get the Flexies to hold and the Flexies kinda looked stupid.

So then I tried to pull the braids through the Dutch braid part and that worked out pretty well. So I repeated it until I ran out of length and tucked the leftovers in.

It held really well. I didn't even need to use a tool to hold it up.

Would I do this style again?

I honestly don't know. I did like it, but I also think I could do better things with a double dutch braid-base, like this or this.

Second day-hair

Points for long hair: It's quite awesome when you can just whip your messy second day-braids into a bun and no one bats an eyelid at it. (Probably even assuming I just did my hair "trendily messy" on purpose. Hah.)
