December 5th

An unexpected hair product today!

The body shop calendar had the
Body Shop Banana truly nourishing conditioner
Aqua/Water/Eau, Musa Sapientium Fruit Extract/Musa Sapientum (Banana) Fruit Extract, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum/Fragrance, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Lecithin, Mel/Honey/Miel, Panthenol, Propylene Glycol, Linalool, Ascorbic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, CI 19140/Yellow 5, CI 15985/Yellow 6.

Unfortunately, this conditioner smells absolutely yucky. Seriously, ew. Last year at least I got the strawberry set with shampoo and conditioner, which was pretty nice.

The Schwarzkopf hair calendar had a nice little leave in conditioner spray. Now this one I know how to use! I always like having a spray conditioner around. Sometimes while handling my hair, which I do damp, the ends will get a bit too dry for easy handling so I like to spray them to keep them easier to work with.

This one is very nice and I have used it up from last year.

December 3rd

It's funny: I sort of fell out of the habit of wearing my Flexies.

But Longhair Carolyn reminded me on my Instagram that they were having a Black Friday sale, so I have placed an order, and it reminded me that I have a bunch of Flexies already. Funny how you can sort of just forget about stuff.

Braided Nautilus bun made with a five stranded braid started as a three stranded braid for the base.

Held with a soaring butterfly Flexi 8.

The Schwarzkopf advent calendar had a styling product: OSiS Long Hair Soft Texture.
This appears to be a dry conditioner (?) with light hold. I've never heard of a dry conditioner before. Anyone?

After some Googling, this is the best description I found:
In addition to the successful dry shampoos, there are now also dry conditioners. These products share the same principle but in the conditioning form. Schwarzkopf Osis Soft Texture Dry Conditioner is such a dry conditioner. This special product has many fine properties. It is a multifunctional product that provides a silky feel. The dry conditioner detangles the hair and also provides a great shine. After using the product, the hair is easy to comb through. The dry conditioner is suitable for people with difficult-to-handle hair. The spray ensures a very smooth hair surface. The product also has a moisturizing effect that makes the hair look healthy and radiant again. Finally, the product is silicone-free.

Schwarzkopf Osis Soft Texture Dry Conditioner specifications:
  • Dry conditioner
  • Multifunctional
  • Ensures silky soft hair
  • Gives a great shine to the hair
  • Detangles the hair
  • Makes the hair easy to comb
  • Hydrating effect
  • Silicone free
  • Schwarzkopf Osis Soft Texture Dry Conditioner use:
  • Spray the conditioner 15-20 centimeters away
  • Spread evenly over the hair
  • Comb the hair well
  • Bring the hair into the desired model
  • Do not rinse

Which... Doesn't really help me a lot with understanding what I'm supposed to do with this product? One thing is how it's "supposed" to be used, another thing is how I can use it on my super long hair and the braids and updos I do. I guess I should use it as my regular leave in conditioners, just on dry hair? Or maybe I can just spray it over my hair as I see fit?

December 2nd

Today's hair: The 3-to-5 strand base for the braided Nautilus which is surprisingly awesome.

It forms a good "bump" to anchor the Flexi 8 through and it is surprisingly easy to form. I started with three strands, then incorporated another two for a five strand result.

Today my Schwarzkopf advent calendar had the Oil Ultime Marula & Rose Light Oil-in-Shampoo.

Schwarzkopf Professional Oil Ultime Marula and Rose Light oil in shampoo ingredient list
Aqua (Water, Eau), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Sunflower Seed Oil PEG-8 Esters, Sodium Chloride, Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Panthenol, Cocamide MEA, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Parfum (Fragrance), Polyquaternium-10, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Benzyl Salicylate, Linalool, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Citronellol, Propylene Glycol

I got this one in last years calendar too, and haven't used that one either. Meh.
The funny thing about this shampoo is how crazy hard it is to get a good picture of the print!

December 1st

I controlled myself a little more this year when it came to Christmas calendars. (I might still have items laying around from last year. Might. Possibly. Ahem.)
So, this year we have some candy calendars for sharing, and I got Rituals 3D calendar and the big Bodyshop one.

I liked the Schwarzkopf advent calendar last year since it was the only exclusively hair calendar I ever found.

But there was something funny about it when I ordered it.... Seems Schwarzkopf is a good three years ahead of everyone else?

It looks pretty much exactly the same as last year:

Today it had the Mad About Lengths Split Ends Fix from Schwarzkopf Professional.

Ingredients
Aqua/Water, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Isododecane, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Panthenol, Polyimide-1, Polyquaternium-10, Lactic Acid, Parfum (Fragrance), Cetrimonium Chloride, Sodium Benzoate, Linalool, Limonen, Benzyl Alcohol, Hexyl Cinnamal- Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Geraniol, Citric Acid

It appears to be a two-phase leave in conditioner spray with a pretty decent ingredient list. I approve.

There is always some debate over fullsize versus trial sizes in these calendars, but honestly, I like the small sizes: They go directly into my semi-packed travel bag. It's nice to have.
