Done!

2. Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog.
I have been nominated by Bella who have followed my blog for a while. She doesn’t have a blog though, but here is the link to her Blogger profile.

3. Tell 7 things about yourself.
Bella requested that I answered the Beauty Blogger survey instead of telling 7 things about myself, so here goes:

Skincare
How many times do you wash your face daily?
I try to do it twice a day, but I can be really lazy and neglect it completely. Bad!

What skin type do you have?
Sensitive skin and ever so slightly on the dry side. Like, on a technicality-dry: If your skin feels tight and uncomfortable after washing and it needs cream to feel good again, you have dry skin. Mine feels slightly tight after washing, but it goes away when I wipe toner over it, I don’t have to apply cream. So I guess, technically slightly dry?

What is your current facial wash?
Avène cleansing foam in the morning and Avène soapless cleanser in the evening.

Do you exfoliate?
I used to, but now that I have my Clarisonic I think my sensitive skin is getting all the exfoliation it can tolerate.

What brand do you use?
Well… None.

What moisturizer do you use?
For day use: Avène soothing contour cream for my eyes and Avène light hydrating cream with SPF 20.
For evening use: Korean skincare-style layering with Iope essential skin boosting serum, Iope essential facial oil, Iope essential tone&wrinkle eye cream and Iope essential moisture relief cream.
For night use: Some times I sleep with a “naked” face only with skin tonic on it after washing. It depends on if I’m up late or sleeping.

Do you have freckles?
Yes. I used to hate them because of the pattern they formed: It really looked like I had been wearing sunglasses and I had dirt splattered in my face, but the last few years they have spread out a bit. I don’t have the sharp “edge” where the freckles start and stop on the bridge of my nose anymore and I like it.

Do you use eye cream?
Yes. I believe you shouldn’t use too heavy products on your eye area to avoid it puffing or being irritated.

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
No, but I thought I did once! That’s the problem with having sensitive skin: It’s not so easy to find quality information on and you can end up mistreating it because you think it’s something else.
Information on “sensitive skin” in magazines is seriously crap and based on whatever product they get commission for pushing.

Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
No, but I’ve heard it can cause a ton of problems when you try to get off it again.

Make-up
What foundation do you use?
Iope Air Cushion XP N21 is the best match for my skin I’ve ever experienced. Otherwise I’ve been using Lancôme teint idole ultra ine shade 010 and color ideal in shade 01.
It can be difficult to find foundations for very pale skin that doesn’t leave you with that dead “mask”.

How about concealer?
Lancôme long lasting softening concealer in 01.

Do you know your undertone color?
Yes. I have a cool undertone.

What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I think they’re awesome if they’re not cartoonish and overdone. Discrete false eyelashes are such a quick and pretty way to boost your natural good looks.

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
Yes. But I use so little mascara that I tend to ignore it. We’re talking like once every 3 months or something!

What brand of mascara do you use?
I like the Lancôme ones I’ve tried the best.

Sephora or MAC?
I’ve never been to either.

Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
No.

What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
A Lancôme foundation brush for concealer and foundation and a soft brush from Bareminerals for blusher.

Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
No, because I never do eye makeup anyways. But I always blend my concealer up to my eyebrows.

For the face?
It’s on my to do-list to find a good primer for my face for when I wear concealer and foundation.

What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
Does it count that I sometimes dot the inner corner of my eyes with a white shimmer from a Lancôme palette I bought many, many years ago? It really brings attention to your eyes.

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
I use a white Elisabeth Arden eye pencil to line my waterline some times.

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil?
Never. I’ve worn contact lenses for half my life and my near eye-motor skills are absolute killer.

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
I would have to take to Google to even know what that is, so…

Do you use mineral makeup?
No, but I like the idea. From what I understand, it’s very sensitive skin-friendly.

What is your favorite lipstick?
I don’t think I ever even owned one.

How about lipgloss?
I haven’t found one I have found myself loving yet. I want a non sticky, barely there kind of thing that doesn’t smear off on everything. And no glittery crap in there!

What is your favorite blush to use?
I have this very pale, barely there Dior blush that I really like.

Make me choose
Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
No.

Do you like drugstore makeup?
I’ve tried a few things from drugstores, but have never been satisfied with the quality. I do however like buying my skincare stuff like sunscreens at drugstores because the pharmacies here have to follow the stricter EU laws where beauty stores follow the local laws.

Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets)
If there was any here, I would. I liked the clothes outlets I’ve been to so far.

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
Yes. I’ve seen that the Makeup Stores here offer classes and I’ve considered going more than once. I’m just not sure how they work. Like, will the artist listen to what I want to learn and how does it work with the stuff I supposedly get to take home afterwards?

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
I probably would be if I tried, haha.

Name a makeup crime that you hate?
I have no makeup crime that I hate; can I substitute it with a hair crime I really hate?
I’ve seen way too many women with thinning hair that dye their hair darker. Maybe they think it makes their hair look like “more”, but in reality, the second they get a bit of roots, it really makes them look like they’re balding.
It makes me cringe so hard and I’ve seen it so many times. In my opinion, women with very thin hair should consider bleaching their hair to match and blend in with their scalp instead of dying it darker.

Do you like colorful shades of makeup?
Not really. I like the natural look. In my opinion it makes you a lot prettier when you play up the skin instead of putting paint on the eyelids and lips.

Which celebrity always has great make up?
I like Alexa Chung. She always has flawless, glowing skin and a very discrete smokey eye that brings attention to her eyes.

If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
Foundation or BB cream.
I just discovered La Roche-Posays Anthelios 50 mineral. It’s a SPF 50 sunscreen with a mineral based light tint. It’s slightly too dark for me, but mixed 1:1 with my daycream it’s a very light cover with a natural, glowing tone.
So far I’ve only tried it as a sample from skinstore.com, but I’m looking for a full size!

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
Yes.

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
Yes. But I do feel I need some foundation, concealer, CC cream, BB cream or blusher some times when my skin is acting up.

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
I haven’t tried enough lines to have an opinion. I do feel that Lancôme’s products are consistently good though.

What do you think of Makeup?
I think it’s a great tool to make myself feel better on bad skin days, but I don’t understand when women get so dependent on it that they can’t even leave the house without a full face of it!

4. Nominate 7 other bloggers for their own Beautiful Blogger Award, and comment on their blogs to let them know
Since this is the Beautiful Blogger Award I think I will share the links to all the beauty bloggers I follow.
I’ve said before I have a real obsession with Korean beauty and skincare, and the following list will definitely prove it!
One of the things I love about the Korean (Inspired) beauty bloggers is that they openly admit how much effort they put into their looks. Not like the Western beauty bloggers that act like “Oh, I just fell out of bed like this and popped a bit of colour on their eyelids. I’m just naturally beautiful, I swear!” when they probably spent just as much time with primer, foundation, concealer, highlighters and blushers as the Korean bloggers.
It’s more honest and I appreciate that.
I couldn’t stick with a mere 7 (And yet I still have some unshared from my K-blogger folder!), but if you have any interest in this kind of blog, maybe you will appreciate my overshare!
