Today's creation

A colleague complained that she has a strong asymmetrical parting, and it makes it hard to braid. 

So I gave it my best shot, but had to admit she was right: There were no way to part her hair completely down the middle without some strong styling product.

Oh well. Still looked pretty good!

And today I remember why I stopped doing this braid-base: The five-stranded start to a Nautilus bun ends up with a strong lopsidedness. It looks great from one side and pretty bad from the other.

(And my new phone is crazy shiny. Damn. Looks slightly creepy with two reflections of my neck like this)

Funny, I put quite a bit of effort into learning how to do this twist-start to a five-stranded braid, but after that, I haven't done it for a while.
