5 braids to
begin with, with a single “French layer” each.
Braided into
a 3-pattern to 5.
Then
braided and braided and it degraded into a 3-pattern in the end.
The
beginning didn’t turn out too well, but the beavertail itself looks pretty
cool.
I love this look, but you need mega length to achieve it. :)
ReplyDeleteabsolutely beautifully done braid!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great style, it looks like Rapunzel in tangled.. but in a better way !
ReplyDeleteQuite beautiful. A piece of living sculpture. The local art museum should have you as a daylong exhibition.
ReplyDeleteIgor--I know you loathe youtube but would you be able to do a tutorial on this braid? I'm still trying to figure out the layout of it--three braids to start, but then do you do a five braid with 2 other braids? I *think* I have figured it out, but I'm not great with a 5 braid.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone :)
ReplyDeleteDarkhorse, how about next time I do this one I will make a video of it? I think maybe you are overthinking it, its really nothing fancy :) I have grown fond of the 3-to-5-thing for braiding through
I'm pretty sure I'm over-thinking it for sure. I have the concept down--it's 5 braids--3 on the top so to speak, and two on the sides, but after that, I'm really bad with a five braid. :)
ReplyDeleteI never really understood the difference between a x-number braid and a fishtail… When does a multiple stranded braid become a fishtail? Do you know?
