I honestly thought this was a high protein, low calorie lunch and totally worthy of being called "hair food".

Sild or sill, is one of those things that are so retro that it has looped back to being kind of cool again.
This is a variation that I learned from my parents.
I only learned to eat sild last Christmas when we were at my parents' place and Hubby kept saying their sild was the best he ever had. It made me curious so I tried it, and didn't hate it. However, I still recommend not breathing when you take the first couple of bites. This stuff just smells weird (Which I why I never learned to eat it until recently)
For the Scandinavians: Find it at Rema1000. It's called "Fiskemandens marinerede sild" and is in a rather boring looking white bucket.
- 2 slices of protein bread (100 g): 264 calories, 22 g protein and 14 g fibre
- 2 sild fillets (140 g): 378 calories and 11 g protein
- 50 g grädfill (Sour cream): 70 calories and 1,5 g protein
- 50 g red onion: 20 calories and 1 g fibre
- I also added a bit of capers on mine (Hubby doesn't like it) but those are 30 calories per 100 gram, so one spoonful is basically nothing.
Honestly I was shocked to see how much it added up to in the end. I guess you always have the habit of thinking fish = healthy and low calorie.
If we had split a portion it would have been more acceptable, but still not even good protein then.
