I'm excited to see what the new year will bring us. 2017 ended with some big changes in my work: I applied for something new, got it and changed jobs, then got yet another job offer that I couldn't refuse like a week later!
It's in the private sector so the pay is better and I can get more hours too. Hubby will continue to be a full time student this year, so I'm very happy with this. I will try to stay under a 60 hour work week as a rule though.
So most of all, 2018 will bring us some very exciting economic opportunities and I plan to take full advantage of it.
My economic priority list will be:
- Pay off debt (Both hubby and I have student loans)
- Renovate
- Save up money in stocks and pension
- Travel
My general life priority list will be:
- Work #1 (You just don't get many opportunities like this one in life!)
- Work #2 (I would like to squeeze a bit of this one into my schedule too)
- Sleep (So basic, but so important!)
- Self care (Stress management and quality of life and all that...)
- Be a good wife (Maybe we could arrange a date night once a week or something. I just know I will end up neglecting hubby with this schedule)
- Blog (Guess this could be put in as a sub-section under #4?)
Excellent news! I hope you get time to blog at least a few times per month because I love coming here to read them! Wishes for much success in 2018.
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I really will try, since I enjoy blogging and it keeps me happy with my hair. Some downtime is important too!
DeleteCongrats on the new jobs! How do you fit a schedule with 2 jobs--are they two part time jobs or can you split time between two? (ie one office X amount of days, then the other office?) Make sure you don't work too hard!! :) Looks like you've got fun plans in store---I'm wishing to do renos, but finances are tight. I'd also rather ride and show horses ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and good luck to Hubby in school too!!
Honest answer? I have no idea how I can make it work in the long run. Seriously. One is full time, one is part time with the option of pushing full hours if I want to. So far I have split the days between offices, but I have no idea how long I can manage to make the days and hours add up.
DeleteHow do you motivate yourself towards renovations? I can already tell renovating might be a problem, because it looks like it will just be bumped down the priority list since everything works... And there are so many more fun things to do with the money!
