Answer to yesterday's pop quiz

So... The border guard confiscated my beloved Ron Quattro U-pin! 

I have now traveled to several countries with it in my hair (So comfortable and lightweight! Perfect for travelling), even to Tenerife with it, but no... I wasn't allowed to leave Tenerife with it in.

Seriously?

The obnoxious and rude woman who confiscated it started telling me that it was way too sharp and could be used as a weapon! 

No way. Those are way too rounded. I would have more luck trying to stab someone with a pen with the cap still on!

Ugh!

So now I'm down one Ron Quattro... Sigh.

Throwback Thursday

The cinnamon bun. Ah, I so, so, so looked forward to being able to do the most basic of updo's when I started growing my hair out again. But like so many other styles, it only worked for me a while because it started sliding and became unstable.

Today's hair

The braids from yesterday actually worked pretty well. 

I guess because the thinner braid is hidden on the inside?

Well, that's pretty good to know: I don't have to be so careful to split the two braids equally.

Today's hair

Usually when I do the royal bun I split the two braids in equal thickness. Tomorrow I'm going to try one where the bottom braid is significantly thinner.

Sensitive skin sucks!

In my Lumene Christmas calendar last year I got a glow boost essence. At first I was suspicious, because it contains vitamin C and that often comes from sea buckthorn, which I'm, highly allergic to. An ingredient check proved it didn't, so I used it and loved it. 

I loved it so much I've been getting the full sized ever since.

Then later in the calendar, I got a cream in the same line. I put that one in my "to use" pile and sort of forgot about it.

Some weeks ago, I had to travel for work and grabbed that cream because it was a good, small size.

After two days, my skin had freaked out on me: Itchy, sore and with a weird, bumpy texture. I tried to get a good picture of that weird, sandpaper-like surface.

Why?
Because although the essence doesn't contain sea buckthorn, the cream does.

When you have sensitive skin or allergies, always, always check your ingredient list. Just because one product in a line doesn't contain a certain ingredient, it doesn't mean everything else doesn't either. Sigh.

I really like this webcomic about married life. He has some about living with a woman with long hair, that hubby says he can relate to! (Pfft. I'm the one who always finds hist chest-hairs everywhere!)

Packing for sun

Looking forward to warm weather and lots of sunlight on Tenerife!

For my hair, I'm packing Stuhr hair protection spray which packs some serious SPF, and L'anza leave in protector which had the highest amount of sunscreen inrgedients of the two L'anza leave ins that I checked up on.

Today's hair

Slightly messy from sleeping on the braid, but the bun looks fine.

Also it seems to have developed some more shine overnight?

I guess the cuticles needed some time to settle after the deep conditioning.
