As a teen I was really really much into a show called The Tribe for a hot minute and one of the actors had them so I wanted them as well. To this day I'm convinced that the actor must have worn fake knots, as there is no way to get this style with long straight hair to actually work and stay put.
I would not be surprised! Some times it just seems impossible for the actor to have certain hairstyles. Those zulu knots seems to be impossible to get to stay put unless you put in a tool to hold them! Or maybe a ton of hairspray?
