December 15th

Another tiny little hair "oil" today. Meh.
I don't know if I would be as disappointed with the size of this, if the stupid styling products weren't by far the largest products in this Christmas calendar? I mean: The products I will absolutely not use have been 100 mls, where as this leave in product that I would like to use is a mere 5.
Even with the little cardboard box and the shredded pink paper filler, it just rattles around with a sad little noise in the drawer.

I mean, is it even worth it to produce? The production cost of manufacturing such a tiny, tiny little bottle, the lid, the box, printing everything, assembling and packaging it? Come on, Schwarzkopf, you can do better than this!

Meh. At least the Rituals candle from today's Christmas calendar is awesome and smells wonderful!

Ingredient list for Schwarzkopf Ultime Barbary Fig Finishing Oil
Cyclomethicone, Dimethiconol, Phenyl Trimethicone, Opuntia Ficus-Indica Seed Oil, Parfum (Fragrance), Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Limonene, Benzyl Alchohol, Gernaiol,  Citronellol

Hubby and I are having fresh, awesome halibut steaks for dinner. Yummy!

The long winter has a tendency to drain me of energy, and it leads to a bad spiral where I eat too much easy, processed food, sleep too little, spend too much time at work and too little outside, at the gym or doing things with hubby. We try to make conscious efforts to break the spiral with really good food, date nights and convincing ourselves to go to the gym. But it takes an effort.

December 13th

The big body shop calendar had a full sized conditioner today: Strawberry Clearly Glossing Conditioner. It comes in 60 ml and 250 ml, and we got the big size. Nice!
It matches with the gift from the 10th, which was the shampoo in the same line.

And again, I love how I can easily find the ingredient list on the body shop website:

The Body Shop Strawberry Clearly Glossing Conditioner ingredient list
Aqua/Water/Eau, Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Cetyl Esters, Glycine Soja Oil/Soybean Oil, Parfum/Fragrance, Glycerin, Isopropyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Fragaria Vesca Juice/Strawberry Juice, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Chlorhexidine Digluconate, Citric Acid, Salicylic Acid, CI 14700/Red 4, CI 19140/Yellow 5.

COSDNA gives a good analysis of it and it seems to be a short and simple ingredient list. (Compare this to the absolute bullshit Kevin Murphy ingredient list back from December 2nd in the Lyko Christmas calendar!)

But... Aloe vera. Groan.

I'm considering getting the rest of the Body Shop conditioners and doing a product showdown. I think there is like five in total?

I really like the smell of this one. Yes, it smells like strawberry, but not that weird not-like-actual-strawberries artificial strawberry smell.

And hm, I just realized that Rituals 3D calendar doesn't have a single hair product in it?
I'm actually disappointed in this. I have this idea that a beauty calendar should sort of "get around" to let you try a little of everything. Funny how I never realized this when I watched the unboxing videos.

The Schwarzkopf calendar had a shampoo today: 30 ml, which is smaller than the previous shampoos: Professional BlondMe Keratin Restore Bonding Shampoo. This one smells really good. I can't really pinpoint it: Like flowers, except not really? Schwarzkopf should use the fragrance in this one for some of the other shampoos they have!

Schwarzkopf Professional BlondMe Keratin Restore Bonding Shampoo
Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Coco-Glucoside, Sodium Chloride, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Peg-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Succinic Acid, Magnesium Citrate, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil, Panthenol, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Glycol Distearate, Parfum, Citric Acid, Peg-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Sodium Benzoate, Peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Laureth-4, Polyquaternium-10, Coconut Acid,Phenoxyethanol, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Citronellol,Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Limonene, Glycerin, Benzyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol

The Ciaté Christmas calendar had a gorgeous blue, sparkly nail polish. The sparkles made it really hard to photograph, but it's seriously pretty!

My perhaps most favourite TV show right now premiers its 4th season! The Expanse
I have all eight of the books, the board game and the first three seasons on DVD. I have also managed to get my hands on the comic The Expanse: Origins, but not any of the other short stories in physical form. The Amazon exclusive Rocinante model has been on my wishlist for ages (But doesn't ship to Sweden. Groan

The Expanse and The Boys are at this point in heavy competition with each other for my favourite TV show, ever. Just like with The Expanse, I have all the The Boys books, I want the DVDs when they come out, and I want merchandise too should they ever produce any.
Season 2 when??

The Expanse is awesome, so my hype is real!
I have been looking forward to this day for months: Bunny kigurumi freshly washed and laid out. Takeout is pre-ordered and we're having Thai food, so my usual order of paneng and pad thai with extra tofu is on its way. There is æbleskiver in the freezer for desert, since it's Christmas and all. I actually double checked there isn't sound on my phone (Something I probably haven't had since 2008?) so everything is set for spending the rest of the day on the couch.

December 11th

Another styling product today.

Ingredient list for Schwarzkopf Osis+ Volume Up Volume Booster Spray
Dimethyl Ether, Alcohol denat., Glycerin, Aqua (Water), Octylacrylamide/Acrylates/Butylaminoethyl Methacrylate Copolymer,  Aminomethyl Propanol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Parfum (Fragrance), PEG/PPG-18/18 - Dimethicone, Linalool, Limonene, Benzyl Alcohol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Citronellol

I found some energy to tackle my clothes today for a tidying. I disagree with some of Kon Mari's ideas, especially her attitude to books. But also about that clothes should "spark joy". I mean, no matter what, the clothes I usually wear for work will just never really spark joy. Work clothes is for looking presentable and professional, to show an image, not to make me happy. It's just a matter of making me more or less happy with it, or more or less pretty. But "spark joy"? Uh, not really.

But despite that, I went through some of my clothes and have discarded a pile. Hubby and I took one of those big. black garbage sacks full of my "joyless" clothes to a charity place nearby. I had more than I thought!
It actually felt really good and I'm happy I found the energy for it.

A while back I bought two of Marie Kondo's books and I finally got around to reading them. Although I don't always agree with her theories/opinions, it does inspire me to tidy up some stuff. I just need to find a little time and energy for that...

December 8th

So yesterday I got a 100 ml hair spray that I would never use, and today I get a tiny 5 ml bottle of hair"oil" that I would actually use. Meh. Not fair. This is the Ultime Rose finishing oil and it actually smells like roses.

Ingredient list for Schwarzkopf Ultime Rose finishing oil
Cyclomethicone, Dimethiconol, Phenyl Trimethicone, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Parfum (Fragrance), Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Gernaiol, Linalool, Citronellol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hexyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Alchohol, Eugenol, Limonene

The weather is sad, dark and wet. If only it would start snowing or something, that would change up everything a bit. It's the constant state of wet and dark that starts getting to me after a while. You really can't tell what time it is of the day.

I'm counting the days until Fuerte Ventura!
Sun, sand, volcanoes... and some time free from work and school. Bliss.

December 7th

So yesterday I got a sad little 30 ml treatment that was rattling around in the drawer. Today I got a 100 ml product. Finally a product that almost fills the drawer! It feels weird to get small products that would rattle around in the drawer if it wasn't for the filler. It really feels like Schwarzkopf should downsize the cardboard container it came in.

Unfortunately this "big" product is a styling product. A hair spray. Sigh.

At least the Ciaté calendar had something super cute: A pretty and metallic pastel pink nail polish. The colour name is "sweet treats" and they definitely got that one right! It was a little hard to photograph, but it's very pretty.

Schwarzkop Osis+ Extreme Hold Hairspray ingredient list
Dimethyl Ether, Alcohol Denat, Aqua (water, Eau), Octylacrylamide/acrylates/butylaminoethyl Methacrylate Copolymer, Aminomethyl Propanol, Parfum (fragrance), Linalool, Limonene, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Salicylate

Today's hair is a braided cinnamon bun. I'm getting some slip from the braid losing its structural integrity and would have wanted to redo it, but my hair appreciated being left alone after a CO wash.

December 6th

Today's product is a 30 ml hair treatment. The mask is pink and smells pink too!

So far the only product I could find on the internet with an identical ingredient list!
Weird how big the regional differences are in the products?

Schwarzkopf BC Bonacure pH 4,5 Color Freeze Treatment ingredient list
Aqua (water, Eau), Cetearyl Alcohol, Isopropyl Myristate, Behentrimonium Chloride, Distearoylethyl Hydroxyethylmonium Methosulfate, Steardimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Keratin, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Benzophenone-4, Calcium Hydroxide, Lactic Acid, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Cetyl Palmitate, Dimethicone, Parfum (fragrance), Phenoxyethanol, Isopropyl Alcohol, Methylparaben, Cetrimonium Chloride, Panthenol, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool, Limonene, Citric Acid, Ci 17200 (red 33)

COSDNA analysis here, but it's not great. Some acne triggers, irritation triggers and red ingredients. Good thing there is too little to use it for anything other than my ends? Benzophenone-4 is a sunscreen ingredient though, so that's good.

Hair was in a braided Nautilus bun all day and it held perfectly.
