Today's hair

After yesterdays disappointment, I just wrapped it up in a Royal bun again.
That one has a lot of strong sides: It's flatly packed against my head and shows off the braidwork very nicely.
The bad side however, is that it is  lacking the structural strength and hold of the Nautilus bun.
Hmm. I just can't win with this.

  1. It's beautiful....regal and elegant...unfortunate that it's not stable for wearing all day.

  2. I'm wondering if you french braided the base of the neck braid, but upside down? That would start it to lay flat, then braid plain and then it would be more stable when up? I still love the look, but I know what it feels like to have a wobbly bun on my head too. I've just been doing english braids or pony tails through hats this summer...and pretty much is my go -to braid for the barn in general. At home, I mix it up with those claw clips, but I don't have nearly half as much hair as you or the length---I am sure the length is what causes the instability due to the volume when winding around.

    1. Hehe, I tried learning the upside down French braid, but I just can't :( My fingers just can't do it.
I really like the look of claw clips though :) But it's hard to find some good, sturdy ones!
